Actress Rosamund Pike has been cast as the lead in the film ‘Rich Flu’

Rosamund Pike, who has been nominated for an Academy Award, has been cast in the forthcoming pandemic thriller Rich Flu, in which a terrible epidemic begins to murder the affluent.

According to Deadline, the film revolves around a weird sickness that kills some of the world’s wealthiest and most powerful individuals, then threatens to afflict anybody with any kind of fortune. People strive to flood the market with assets that the globe no longer wants as a result of the global crisis. The drama investigates how far individuals would go to preserve their skin when the riches that once powered the planet becomes its most lethal commodity.

Galder Gaztelu-Urrutia, who will also co-write the screenplay alongside Pedro Rivero, will direct Rich Flu. Under their Fabula label, Pablo Larran as well as Juan de Dios Larran are supporting the feature film. Nostromo Pictures’ Adrián Guerra and Nria Valls, as well as Carlos Juárez, Gaztelu-Urrutia, as well as Albert Soler, produce.

Sierra/Affinity is rumoured to have been shopping the movie abroad and will premiere the movie during the Berlinale’s virtual European Film Market.

According to THR, Rosamund Pike has been cast in Rich Flu, which will be directed by Spanish filmmaker Galder Gaztelu-Urrutia. In 2019, Gaztelu-Urrutia directed the sci-fi horror movie The Platform, which looks just at conflicts that develop as a result of income distribution imbalances. Pablo Larran, who has previously directed Jackie as well as the Princess Diana biography Spencer, is producing Rich Flu.

While it’s unknown whether Pike will portray a besieged scientist or a virus-avoidant miser, she’s certainly at home in the role of devious anti-heroes. She was nominated for an Academy Award for her performance in Gone Girl in 2014 as well as a Golden Globe for her performance in I Care a Lot in 2020.
