Mel Brooks does have a net worth of $100 million as an American comedian, producer, director, composer, as well as writer. Blazing Saddles, Spaceballs, and Robinhood: Men in Tights are among his most well-known films. He’s as well the creator of The Producers, a musical adaption of his debut film. From 2001 until 2007, The Producers was a hit on Broadway, grossing more than $200 million in ticket sales alone. He is a member of the EGOT club, having won an Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, and Tony awards.

Mel Brooks, also known as Melvin Kaminsky, was born on June 28, 1926, in Brooklyn, New York. When he was two years old, his father died of renal illness. He was raised in a tenement. Mel’s uncle Joe, a cab driver who brought Broadway doormen back to Brooklyn after plays, was given two tickets to a musical when he was nine years old.

During his high school summers, Brooks worked as both a stand-up comedian for resorts inside the Catskills. He returned to comedy as a writer rather than just a performer after serving in the US Army during World War II. Sid Caesar engaged him to write jokes for an NBC show called The Admiral Broadway Revue in 1949. He received a weekly stipend of $50.

Caesar engaged Mel as just a writer for his variety show, Your Show of Shows, which premiered in 1950. Future Hollywood giants Carl Reiner, Neil Simon, Danny Simon, and Mel Tolkin would be in the writer’s room with Mel.

Brooks and Reiner established a comedy partnership and began performing The 2000 Year-Old-Man, which quickly became a hit.

Mel developed the comic series Get Smart in 1965, which was a great smash. Over the course of five seasons, Get Smart aired 138 episodes.

Mel and Anne paid $1.7 million purchasing four ocean-view condominiums in Santa Monica, California, in June 2000. They subsequently spent another $500,000 on upgrades before purchasing the fifth apartment in the very same building for $300,000 in 2004. The outcome was a stunning apartment with over 4,000 square feet that was marketed for $6 million in 2011. In 2013, he found a buyer for $5.5 million.
