VIDYA BALAN’S FATHER’S REAL NAME USED FOR HER ONSCREEN FATHER IN “DO AUR DO PYAAR”

Vidya Balan, who plays a modern, progressive Palakkad Tamil in her upcoming film “Do Aur Do Pyaar” (Kavya Ganeshan), drew inspiration from her real father’s name to name the character of her screen father.

Vidya’s father’s name is Poothankurissi Ramaiyer Balan, while the name of her screen father is Poothankurissi Ramaiyer Ganeshan.

Her screen family is based in Ooty in the film.

Renowned Tamil actor, Thalaivasal Vijay, who has featured in more than 100 Tamil and Malayalam films, plays Vidya’s father.

Laughs Vidya, “It was just one of those things. They knew my father’s name and asked me if they could modify it and use it in the film and i agreed.”

“Do Aur Do Pyaar” releases in cinemas on 19th April.
