Venkatesh After ₹300 Crore Blockbuster: Peace Over Applause

At the Aadarsha Kutumbam event, Venkatesh Daggubati shares the daily meditation he says matters more than box-office success.

Venkatesh After ₹300 Crore Blockbuster Leads with Meditation

Venkatesh Daggubati has just come off a ₹300-crore blockbuster, but at the pre-release event for Aadarsha Kutumbam he made it clear that success is not the centre of his life. Every morning, he said, he meditates for everyone’s well-being—“everyone to be happy and peaceful.”

His primary purpose, the actor added, is not applause or box office. “Everything else will come and go.”

A ritual anchored in goodwill

Venkatesh described a simple daily practice. Before the day’s demands begin, he sits in meditation and wishes well for others.

The outlook is not new. The actor has often spoken about inner stillness and peace over applause, and he has pointed to Ramana Maharshi’s path of self-inquiry, which turns on a single question: “Who am I?”

Trivikram on detachment and positivity

Director Trivikram linked the actor’s calm to his appeal. He credited Venkatesh’s “detachment and positivity” and quoted the Bhagavad Gita line “Karmanye vaadhikaaraste”—the teaching that one has a right to the work, not to the fruits of the work.

In Trivikram’s view, Venkatesh lives that philosophy: he focuses on the performance, not the reward.

Here’s what that looks like in practice:

  • Start with goodwill: meditate for others’ happiness before your own agenda.
  • Separate effort from outcome: do the work fully, then let the result be what it is.
  • Keep fame in proportion: professional highs and lows don’t have to disturb your inner balance.

Family audience is “his mass”

Trivikram also placed Venkatesh in a rare lane of stardom. “Few stars have risen to superstardom through family entertainers alone, and Venkatesh is one of them,” he said.

Films such as Kalisundam Raa and Raja pulled whole families into theatres on the strength of heartfelt stories. For Venkatesh, Trivikram said, the family audience is “his mass”.

That lane still has commercial muscle. His 2025 release Sankranthiki Vasthunam became a ₹300-crore blockbuster, proving family stories can travel far beyond one region.

Aadarsha Kutumbam releases in theatres this Friday, October 30.
