Ranbir, Salman Homes Scouted in Tiger Shroff Firing Case
Mumbai Crime Branch is examining alleged reconnaissance at Ranbir Kapoor and Salman Khan’s homes before the October 18 shooting at Tiger Shroff’s car.

Mumbai Crime Branch has widened its investigation into the October 18 firing at Tiger Shroff’s car in Juhu, and the alleged trail now touches some of Bollywood’s most recognisable addresses. Police sources say the accused may have scouted the homes of several celebrities in the weeks before the shooting, including Ranbir Kapoor’s Bandra residence and the homes of Salman Khan, Amitabh Bachchan, Aamir Khan and Akshay Kumar.
Investigators are treating the visits as suspicious reconnaissance, but they have not concluded that every actor was an intended target. The purpose of the alleged scouting is still being examined, and simply visiting a residence does not prove a selection.
How the alleged scouting worked
According to sources cited by NewsX, the accused reached Mumbai weeks before the incident and moved around using auto-rickshaws. They allegedly asked drivers to take them to the homes of film stars, saying they wanted to photograph the residences. Different drivers helped them reach several locations, which has allowed the Crime Branch to piece together their movements.
Police are now assessing whether the suspects were looking for celebrities whose security arrangements appeared comparatively less stringent, and whether someone else provided information or logistical support.
Who came first on the list
Police sources have said Salman Khan was initially considered a target. After arriving in Mumbai, the accused allegedly surveyed his residence but found a strong security presence, then dropped that plan and shifted their focus to Tiger Shroff. Salman has had heightened protection since the 2024 firing outside his home.
Tiger may have been identified through the same channels fans use to follow his routine. Sources say the suspects learned from fan posts and Instagram pages that the actor regularly visited a football ground in Juhu on Sundays, and an auto-rickshaw driver also told them about the visits.
The alleged timeline
- The accused reached Mumbai weeks before the shooting and allegedly surveyed celebrity homes by auto-rickshaw.
- On October 11, they went to the Juhu football ground but Tiger Shroff was not there.
- On October 18, they returned and shots were fired at the actor’s car around 7 pm.
What investigators are tracing now
The probe has also opened a window into an alleged firearms network. Statements attributed to Deputy Commissioner of Police Raj Tilak Roshan indicate that technical analysis and interrogation identified more suspects. Two men allegedly travelled to Amritsar to procure firearms, which were then transported to Mumbai by two women.
Investigators are also examining the alleged role of Anil Pandit, described in reports as a US-based gangster and an associate of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. Police are tracing the weapons supply chain and trying to establish whether anyone else was involved.
For fans, the case is a reminder that what looks like routine star-watching can be misused. It is also a live investigation, so many details remain allegations until charges are filed.
