Tomorrow, April 28, a Mumbai court is expected to rule on the suicide case of Jiah Khan. The family of Sooraj Pancholi was seen to be happy but uneasy.
The Bombay Court’s decision in the Jiah Khan suicide case is expected to be announced tomorrow, April 28, in a significant step. According to a report by Bar and Bench, the judge said that he will attempt to deliver the decision on Friday, April 28 after the closing arguments were ended on April 20. The verdict is scheduled for April 28, according to the ETimes, and Sooraj Pancholi’s family is hopeful yet concerned about the outcome.
The Pancholi family member who spoke with ETimes requested anonymity in order to prevent bias in the decision. The family member expressed their hopes for the outcome and informed the tabloid that while everyone in the Pancholi family is hopeful, they are also apprehensive about the probable tomorrow’s judgment. “Going by the merits of the case, the entire family is positive. But we are also anxious about the verdict which is slated to come out on April 28 in the Special CBI Court number 52,” said the family member.
Jiaj Khan committed suicide in June 2013. He appeared in films like Nishabd, Ghajini, Housefull, and others. Her mother Rabia Khan reportedly discovered her hanging at her residence. In the suicide case, Sooraj Pancholi, who was supposedly dating Jiah Khan, is one of the suspects. According to reports, Jiah wrote a letter outlining her turbulent connection with Sooraj Pancholi.
Jiah’s mother Rabia charged Sooraj Pancholi and his family with “mistreating” Jiah while she was living after Jiah passed away. The Bombay police both arrested Sooraj and charged him with aiding suicide. He was subsequently, nevertheless, freed on bail.
Rabia Khan petitioned the Bombay High Court to transfer the investigation to the Central Bureau of Investigation after Sooraj’s release on bail on July 1, 2013. (CBI). In 2014, the investigation was handed over to the CBI, which on December 15 issued a chargesheet accusing Sooraj Pancholi of aiding suicide in violation of Section 306 of the Indian Penal Code.
Aditya Pancholi and Zarina Wahab, Sooraj Pancholi’s parents, have asserted that their son is not to blame for Jiah’s passing. Sooraj Pancholi told the Bombay Times in 2021 that he had no idea how he has survived the past eight years while discussing the matter. He said that the support of his family had gotten him through everything and that his goal in life is to look ahead and advance.
