Kareena Kapoor was been offered the role of Sita in a mythological film. Reportedly, the actress had asked for Rs 12 crore for this project for which she faces online criticism. They also alleged that Kareena is hurting their religious sentiments. And now, Taapsee Pannu has come out in support of Kareena saying that when a woman was asking for such a fee, she is being called ‘too demanding’, and added that if it would have been a man in that position who would have asked for that much amount. People would say that it is a sign of his success.
“If it would have been a man in that position, who would have asked for a particular amount, it would have been looked upon like, ‘iski market badh gayi hai (his worth has improved)’. Like that guy has really achieved big success in life. But because a woman is asking for it, she’s called ‘difficult’, ‘too demanding’. It’s always like that.”
Taapsee further said that if Kareena demands a certain salary for her time, it’s her job. “You’ll always read about this problem issue of hiked salary with women. But why not? She is one of the biggest female superstars we have in the country. If she commands a certain salary for her time, it’s her job. Do you think any other mythological characters that are played by men, do you think they do it for free? I don’t think so.”
A source claimed that Kareena often asks for Rs 6 to 8 crpres for her work in films and now has asked for a whopping amount of Rs 12 crore for portarying the role of Sita in the mythological film.
