The film’s casting is on, but Sonakshi Sinha has bagged a role in SLB’s upcoming venture.
The Famous Director-producer Sanjay Leela Bhansali has been planning on making Heera Mandi for a long time now. Many rumoured on the casting of an actress in the film, including Madhuri Dixit, Huma Qureshi and Sonakshi Sinha. As per the sources now, Huma and Sonakshi both locked their place in the movie. Huma Qureshi plays the role of one of the sex workers, and Sonakshi Sinha plays the protagonists’ role.
A source close to the development spills the beans.“More than Sonakshi herself it’s her father veteran actor Shatrughan Sinha who has been most keen that she work with Bhansali. Sonakshi did a Bhansali production earlier Rowdy Rathod. She will now be playing one of the protagonist in Heera Mandi.”
Dabangg girl will be taking Kathak lessons to perform the Mujras in Heera Mandi. The filmmakers want a unique dance sequence that has never been seen in the past in any cinema. However, the movie is being made in Pakeezah style. Heera Mandi, also known as Shahi Mohallah, is a red-light area in Pakistan’s Lahore.
Meanwhile, talking about her upcoming projects, Sonakshi also has Reema Kagti’s Fallen in the pipeline. She will also appear in Bhuj: The Pride Of India, in which she will play the role of Sunderben Jetha Madharparya.
