Farhan Akhtar and Shibani Dandekar are relishing the start of a new chapter in their lives, having been married in a small ceremony. The couple married after dating for several years, but Shibani Dandekar had another motivation for marrying Farhan Akhtar, and it will have you in splits. Farah Khan went to her social media account on March 9 to share a beautiful photo of herself and Shibani on the latter’s wedding day. Shibani wore a stunning red corset gown in the photo, while Farah smiled joyfully alongside her in a pretty green attire. Farah captioned the shot, “sis in law Shibani Dandekar #womeninlove (sic).”
Shibani was the first to notice the message. She retweeted it and added, “Love you sooooo much! Married Farhan just to be your sister in law (sic).” Farhan Akhtar and Farah Khan are cousins, in case you didn’t know. Farah and Farhan’s mothers, Menaka and Honey Irani, are sisters.
Farhan and Shibani Dandekar married in two ceremonies: a civil wedding in Mumbai and a wedding at the Akhtar family farm in Khandala. Farhan and Shibani Dandekar made the decision to forego a nikah ceremony and a Marathi wedding. Instead, they chose a small wedding where they could exchange vows.
On February 19, both read their handwritten vows in front of their friends and family. Several celebrities, including Farhan’s cousin Farah Khan, Rhea Chakraborty, Satish Shah, Ashutosh Gowariker, and Ritesh Sidhwani, attended the midday wedding. Rakesh and Pinkie Roshan, Hrithik’s parents, were also present for the wedding. The pair also announced their nuptials on social media, and their stunning photos made our hearts flutter.
