Shahid Kapoor claims that becoming the father to Misha and Zain has helped him become less self-absorbed

Shahid Kapoor is getting ready for the release of his forthcoming film, Jersey, in which he will be seen with Mrunal Thakur. The stars are hard at work promoting the film and doing interviews in the lead up to the big day. Shahid spoke up about his personal life and how being a parent to two children has affected him as a person in an interview with RJ Siddharth Kannan.

When asked how parenting has changed him as a person, Shahid stated he has become less self-absorbed. The actor says, “I am sure, kaafi kuch. Usko words mein daalna bada mushkil hain (I am sure there’s a lot of changes. It’s difficult to put into words). I feel the change now that I am a parent. Yeah, it makes you a man. It helps you become a little less self-absorbed, which I think all artists are, which is great. Because the minute you are less self-absorbed, you are actually opening yourself up to new things and that’s great.”  Shahid emphasizes that it’s difficult to put the experience into words. “Tremendous changes, I would say, a whole new life, a whole new perspective,” he concludes.

On July 7th, 2015, Shahid Kapoor and Mira Rajput married. Misha, their daughter, was born on August 27th, 2016. On September 5th, 2018, their son Zain was born.

Jersey, starring Shahid Kapoor, is a Hindi version of the Telugu film of the same name, which also stars Nani. It’s about a failing cricketer who returns to the pitch to support his son. In addition to Shahid and Mrunal, renowned actor and Shahid’s father Pankaj Kapur plays a key role.
