Saif Ali Khan’s 35-Year PTA Run: Teachers Changed, He Didn’t
Saif Ali Khan says he has attended PTA meetings at the same school for 35 years, from age 20 to 55, and the teachers changed but he hasn't.

Saif Ali Khan has built a career on understated wit, and his latest television appearance suggests the school gate may be his longest-running stage. On The Great Indian Kapil Show, with Kareena Kapoor Khan beside him, he answered a simple question about parent-teacher meetings with a timeline that doubles as a family portrait.
Same school, different decades
When the conversation turned to who attends PTA meetings in the Khan household, Saif didn’t just name a name. He pointed out that all four of his children have studied at the same school, only at very different points in his life.
“When I was 20 years old, I had my first PTA meeting. Then I was 30 years old. I am still standing in the same school at 55. And now… The teachers there have changed. I am still the same.”
The line works because it is precise without trying too hard. One campus, roughly 35 years, and a father who jokes that everyone around him rotated while he stayed put.
Why this lands for Bollywood fans
Celebrity parenting updates can feel carefully polished, but Saif’s PTA confession is the opposite. He isn’t presenting himself as a reinvented modern dad; he is leaning into being the same familiar face at the same familiar spot. That self-deprecating tone is a big part of his public charm, and it makes a star’s family life feel more recognisable than staged.
The joke also maps neatly onto his personal history. It isn’t just a school story; it is a story about two chapters of his life.
- He married Amrita Singh in 1991, when he was 21, and the couple separated in 2004 after 13 years.
- Sara and Ibrahim are his children from that first marriage.
- He married Kareena Kapoor Khan in 2012, and they are parents to Taimur, born in December 2016, and Jeh, born in February 2021.
So when Saif stands at that school gate at 55, he isn’t just representing one family unit. He has been doing the run across two marriages and four children, which is why the audience response feels warm rather than mocking.
What’s next on screen
Beyond the school calendar, both actors have busy professional slates. Saif is preparing for Hum Hindustani, a Netflix period drama directed by Rahul Dholakia that explores the challenges behind India’s first democratic election. The film also stars Pratik Gandhi and Deepak Dobriyal, and its release date has not yet been announced.
Kareena, meanwhile, was last seen in Meghna Gulzar’s Daayra, which released in September 2026 with Prithviraj Sukumaran.
