India has more covid-19 cases in the last days than anywhere in the worlds. Hospitals across India are experiencing oxygen shortages. Several Bollywood actors have come forward to help out people amidst covid. Bollywood actor Priyanka Chopra had also started a fundraisers in association with GiveIndia which has collected $3 million, i.e Rs 22 crore.
On Tuesday, Priyanka took to her Instagram and share about what they gained from the fundraiser started by her. With all the funds raised, the actor’s foundation has been able to procure 500 oxygen concentrators which have oxygen supply to more than 2500 patients every month. 422 oxygen cylinders and manpower for 10 vaccination centres that’ll help over 6000 people to get vaccinated over the next months.
Priyanka Chopra wrote, “Thank you to every single one of you who have donated and made these actions possible… please know that you have helped save lives. With your support, we’ve now accelerated our fundraiser to $3 Million (22cr INR)”.
Earlier, Priyanka and Nick had revealed that more than 14,000 people contributed and it had been able to collect $1 million within a couple of days. The duo had announced about her fundraiser in a post on social media. The couple has now successfully raised to $3 million.
Several Bollywood celebrities have taken initiative in raising funds, the money collected is being used to buy oxygen concentrators or help covid-19 affected families. Actors like Sonu Sood, Akshay Kumar, Twinkle Khanna, Sara Ali khan, Varun Dhawan and others have initiated fundraisers to help people affected by covid-19.
On the work front, Priyanka was last seen in filmmaker Shonali Bose’s ‘The Sky Is Pink’ co-starring Farhan Akhtar and Zaira Wasim. The actor is shooting for her upcoming Hollywood project in Londan.
