Nawazuddin Siddiqui recalls when his house was the size of his current washroom

Nawazuddin Siddiqui, who began his career as a junior artist, rose through the ranks of the film business due to his commitment to his craft. The actor, who shared a flat with a few individuals throughout his early career, ultimately realised his goals by buying a house in Mumbai and naming it ‘Nawab’ after his father. Surprisingly, the actor went into the business of interior design and refurbished his house. Nawazuddin Siddiqui recounted a period when his house was the same size as his present washroom in a recent interview.

Speaking to Bombay Times, the ‘Gangs of Wasseypur’ actor said, “Aaj jitna bada mera personal bathroom hai, utnasa mera ghar hua karta tha (Today my bathroom is as big as the house I once lived in)”.

When he arrived to Mumbai, the actor also said that he slept in a modest apartment and shared a room with four other aspiring performers. “Woh kamra itna chhota tha ki agar main door kholun toh kisi ke pairon mein lag jata tha,” he explained, “since we all used to lay our mattresses on the floor while we slept there.” Nawazuddin moved out of his parents’ house in 2005.

In the meanwhile, Nawazuddin has two projects in the works: Jogira Sara Ra Ra and Heropanti 2. He’ll also be seen alongside Avneet Kaur in Kangana Ranaut’s Tiku Weds Sheru. For his portrayal in Serious Men, Nawazuddin Siddiqui was nominated for an International Emmy Award for Best Actor last year.
