Tv actor of popular show ‘Naagin 3’ fame Pearl Puri was arrested by Waliv police in Vasai for allegedly raping a minor. As per the report, Mira Bhayander Vasi Virar (MBVV) DCP, Zone 2 Sanjay Patil mentioned, “The incident is old but the 17-year-old minor victim complained to us along with her mother at the police station and we registered a case under Section 376 (rape) of IPC and Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act(POCSO) Act, 2012.”
The actor has been booked under Sections 376 A (Punishment for rape on woman under 12 years of age) of the Indian Penal Code, and Sections 4,8,12, 19 and 21 under the protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, 2012.
According to the Valiv police, the victim’s father had had approached them in 2019 and lodged a complaint that his daughter was sexually assaulted. The identity of the accused had not been disclosed at that time.
Pearl V Puri’s Naagin 3 co-star Anita Hassanandani spoke in support of the actor. She took to her Instagram and shared a picture with Pearl and revealed that it is false. She mentioned that the ‘Truth will be out soon’.
The actress captioned the post as, “Woke up to some nonsensical news bout @pearlvpuri I know him! It is NOT true … canNOT be true…. all lies. I’m sure there is more to it. And the truth will be out soon. Love you @pearlvpuri #ISTANDWITHPEARL.”
On the work front, Pearl V Puri rose to fame for featuring in Ekta Kapoor’s productions Naagin 3 (2018–19) and Bepanah Pyaar (2019–20) respectively. He last seen on Brahmarakshas 2, in which he portrayed the role of Angad Mehra.
The actor made his television debut Dil Ki Nazar Se Khoobsurat in 2013 and was later seen in Phir Bhi na mane… Badtameez Dil.
