Every Indian seems to have a memory of both the Republic Day parade, and as the country commemorates the Constitution of India, celebrities are reminiscing about their own. While watching the Republic Day celebration in New Delhi with her children Misha and Zain, Shahid Kapoor’s wife Mira Rajput uploaded a photo of the Rajput Regiment marching. The celebrity wife also revealed that as a child, she used to attend the march with her grandfather, who was a member of the Indian Army’s Rajput Regiment. She paid tribute to both the Rajput Regiment, which was paraded in front of India’s President and Prime Minister.
“The Rajput Regiment,” Mira wrote when she shared it. On Republic Day, I recall Dadaji waking us up early every morning to see the procession. If my memory serves me well, it was at 7 a.m., and we would be sitting in front of the TV before school, on a day off from school. I can’t convey how proud I am of my nation and how much I mourn those days with my grandpa, who served in the Rajput Regiment, as I watch the march with my own children. For our warriors bending in appreciation today, a salute isn’t enough.
Mira used it to post a photo of both the Rajput Regiment during the Republic Day parade as well as pay gratitude to Indian Army personnel.
Fans started greeting Mira on Republic Day as soon as she published the photo and statement. Mira has even included her own siblings inside the message, who had attended the march with her as children.
