Manoj Bajpayee Calls Tiger Shroff Firing Scary, Wants a Warning

Manoj Bajpayee called the firing outside Tiger Shroff's car scary and wants the arrested suspects to become a warning. Tiger escaped unhurt.

Manoj Bajpayee on Tiger Shroff firing: scary, and a warning

Tiger Shroff is at the centre of a frightening security story after three men opened fire at his car in Mumbai. The actor escaped unhurt, but his driver and a fan were injured and are now recovering. The incident has pushed Bollywood star safety back into the headlines.

Investigators in the Mumbai Crime Branch later made the case even more alarming: Tiger was reportedly not the attackers’ first target. The three shooters are said to have planned to go after a more prominent celebrity, whose name has not been made public, but switched to Tiger because tighter security around that star made them hard to reach. Tiger, the police version suggests, was seen as an easier target.

Manoj Bajpayee’s response

At a press event for his recent OTT release Gajab Raat, Manoj Bajpayee was asked about the firing. He described the larger feeling of fear while separating it from the relief that no life was lost.

“I don’t see a gang war, but shots are being fired from who knows where, and that’s really scary. Secondly, it’s sad what happened to Tiger, but the best and happiest part is that he’s safe, and his driver is also recovering slowly.”

Bajpayee’s comment points to a wider worry: a high-visibility actor may escape, but the people around him take the first hit. Here, the driver and a fan were the ones caught in the violence.

He wants the case to set a warning

The actor also spoke about the investigation. The alleged suspects have been brought to Mumbai and arrested, he said, and he hopes the case ends quickly.

“I just hope the investigation wraps up as soon as possible and that an example is set so that next time, anyone will think twice before doing something like this.”

Why this matters beyond one star

  • Tiger Shroff was unhurt; his driver and a fan are recovering after gunfire near his car.
  • Police say the shooters originally had a bigger celebrity in mind, then picked Tiger as an easier target.
  • Security around Salman Khan has been further tightened after the incident.

For fans, the story is a sobering reminder that celebrity security failures often fall first on drivers, staff and bystanders. For the movie business, it raises a question about visibility: if a known name can be reassigned by attackers because he is judged less protected, then security has to work as a public deterrent, not only as a private arrangement.

Bajpayee’s ask is straightforward: finish the investigation, make the consequences clear, and give the next person who considers such an act a real reason to stop. In a film industry built on public appearances, that warning may now be as important as the protection itself.
