Kangana Ranaut Takes A Dig At Twitter’s Concerns Over The Potential Threat To Freedom Of Expression

Kangana Ranaut has been in the headlines for the past couple of months for her controversial statements. The Bollywood diva took a dig at Twitter for ‘expressing concern over the potential threat to freedom of expression.

On Thirsday, Twitter expressed concern over the “use of intimidation tactics by the police” after it gave manipulated media tag to tweets by spokesperson of ruling party BJP, and said it is concerned about employees in India and the potential threat to freedom of expression.

After the statement, Kangana recently took to her Instagram stories and lashed out Twitter. She said, “Poor Twitter begging for freedom of speech. She wrote, “Poor Twitter begging for freedom of speech, twitter the great, the unelected member of parliament, supreme justice of the world, keeper of moral compass of humanity and what is their basic qualifications or credentials to ask or forcefully acquire this power? Who are they?”

The actress further mentioned that everything has a price tag from followers to promotional tweetes. “Handful of druggies who can be bought and sold easily, everything has a price tag from followers to promotional tweets, these money greedy private businessmen and capitalists want to run nations, bully and control the governments? Really haven’t we learnt from east India company?”

Earlier, Kangana’s Twitter account was permanently suspended after she posted tweets that violate the guidelines of the site. The actress had also tweeted on the alleged political violence in West Bengal after election results were announced. She also posted controversial tweets on post-poll violence in West Bengal.

Kangana had stated that she is eagerly waiting to be banned on Instagram, after Twitter and that would be a ‘Badge of honour’.

On the work front, Kangana is waiting for the release of the most anticipated film ‘Thalaivi’, biopic of the former minister of Tamil Nadu.
