Jersey is a forthcoming Bollywood sports drama film directed by Gowtam Tinnanuri, which is a remake of the Telugu movie from 2019. Shahid Kapoor, Mrunal Thakur, and Pankaj Kapur star as cricketers in the film. Allu Aravind, Aman Gill, Dil Raju, and Suryadevara Naga Vamsi are producing the movie.
The movie’s official announcement came in October 2019, as well as the main filming began on December 13 in Chandigarh. It was supposed to be released in theatres on August 28, 2020, but the COVID-19 epidemic forced a postponement. The movie was completed on December 14, 2020. The upcoming film is in theatres on December 31, 2021, to coincide with the New Year.

Soon after the Telugu film Jersey (2019) was released in theatres, fans began speculating about a remake. Later reports said that Shahid Kapoor had been cast as the male protagonist, with Shraddha Kapoor being considered for the female role. Rashmika Mandanna, a Telugu actor, will make her Bollywood cinema debut well with the project, which was announced in August 2019. From November 2nd, Shahid Kapoor began training for his role as a cricketer in the movie. Mandanna opted out of her job in the same month, before Mrunal Thakur was appointed as her replacement. Pankaj Kapur, Shahid’s dad, was cast as Coach Murthy when the main filming began in Chandigarh on December 14, 2019. Shahid Kapoor was said to have gotten 13 stitches during a scene shot in January 2020, but he later healed. The movie was completed on December 14, 2020.
