Jaideep Ahlawat is recognised for his roles in films like Gangs of Wasseypur, Paatal Lok, Raazi, and Bard of Blood, to name a few. Recently, the actor remembered an incident in which he, Kamal Haasan, and Rahul Bose were almost imprisoned in the United States while filming Vishwaroopam in 2013. It was a’scary’ time for them, according to the actor, and it was all a misunderstanding.

Jaideep Ahlawat told Mashable India’s The Bombay Journey that they were filming on a bridge at the time, and the US police were on high alert because it was around Christmas, and they were stopped by around eight to ten police vehicles. “The moment we reached the toll, there were 8-10 cop cars and we realised they were there for us, with sirens blaring. And we were like ‘we’re gone’. I was the junior-most there. Kamal sir was sitting in the car, and I thought he’ll handle it. The cops started yelling as we see in all Hollywood films ‘keep your hands where I can see them. He kept yelling and I was thinking ‘I won’t do anything, please don’t shoot,'” Jaideep added.

In addition, Jaideep Ahlawat added that the police officers soon realised that it was a movie shoot. “We showed the permissions, etc. After 15 minutes, they let us go. But those 15 minutes were scary. Now we can laugh about it but then it felt like.”

Jaideep Ahlawat was most recently featured in the online series Bloody Brothers, a dark comedic thriller starring Zeeshan Ayyub.
