Award winning filmmaker Shekhar Kapur recently visited the NYU Abu Dhabi Water Research Centre. Known for his BAFTA and Golden Globe achievements, Kapur expressed curiosity for innovative solutions in water conservation. Meanwhile, the research centre expressed passion for a potential collaboration that merges storytelling and science. Some pictures of Kapur from the research centre have surfaced on internet, which has left the fans guessing if the auteur is looking forward to work on his dream project ‘Paani’, which was shelved a few years ago.
Previously, the renowned director had opened up about his ambitious project. Terming it as a “dramatic script” with a “spiritual story”, Kapur had said that the narrative of ‘Paani’ is “about many relationships including a love story”. He added how water is the “key” to the film’s story. Interestingly, the film was supposed to star Sushant Singh Rajput. However, as of now, there’s no official update on the project.
Meanwhile, Kapur is gearing up for the sequel of his 1983 film ‘Masoom’, which is titled ‘Masoom…The Next Generation’. The film, which will explore the concept of ‘home’ in today’s society, marks Kapur’s daughter Kaveri Kapur’s acting debut. It is set to release soon.
