Despite being an industry insider, Adhyayan Suman claims that nepotism did not aid him.

Given the issue around nepotism, Bollywood actor Adhyayan Suman, who is gearing up for the much-anticipated third season of ‘Aashram,’ said that despite being an industry insider, things have not gone as well for him.

He believes that the audience has the ultimate power, and that no amount of publicity or campaigns can truly alter an actor’s or actress’s career if the audience is unwilling to see them and their work.

The actor revealed during a press event for ‘Aashram 3’ that  “Nepotism hasn’t ever worked in my favour. What will work or who will work solely depends on the audience. The debate around nepotism has always been futile.”

The actor used the following as an example: “Today, Kartik Aaryan receives as much love for ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2’ as Alia Bhatt receives for ‘Gangubai Kathiwadi’. Talent and content rules supreme in this age.”

‘Aashram,’ directed and produced by Prakash Jha, is a criminal drama series that explores the intersection between blind religion and politics.

It stars Bobby Deol in lead role along with Aaditi Pohankar, Darshan Kumar, Chandan Roy Sanyal, Tushar Pandey, Anupriya Goenka, Adhyayan Suman, Vikram Kochhar, Tridha Choudhury, Rajeev Siddhartha, Sachin Shroff, Anurita Jha, Parinitaa Seth, Jahangir Khan, Kanupriya Gupta, Preeti Sood and Navdeep Tomar in key roles.

From June 3, the series’ third season will be available on MX Player.
