Bhumi Pednekar refuses to be stopped! Bhumi Pednekar is in the running to play alongside Shahid Kapoor in Ali Abbas Zafar’s next film after completing off Raksha Bandhan with Akshay Kumar and shooting for Badhaai Do with Rajkummar Rao. The director is currently working on a remake of a foreign thriller and is on the search for a new onscreen couple. Because Bhumi and Shahid have never shared screen time before, the producers are eager to cast them together.
A source in the sector provided an update on the situation, saying, “Bhumi could be finalised soon. The makers are keen on casting her because she hasn’t worked with Shahid before, so their pairing will definitely be a fresh casting coup.” The film is set to shoot in Abu Dhabi in the second half of 2021 and will be a remake of an international thriller.
With projects like Badhaai Do and Mr Lele starring Vicky Kaushal, Bhumi’s schedule is jam-packed. Shahid’s first OTT project, Operation Cactus, was recently completed. He’s also getting ready to debut his sports drama Jersey. Ali Abbas Zafar’s most recent effort was the web series Tandav, starring Saif Ali Khan, which sparked widespread outrage for offending religious feelings. The series’ criticism also caused the release of Manoj Bajpayee’s The Family Man 2 to be postponed.

Talking about Bhumi Pednekar’s Raksha Bandhan, it fastens the brother and sister relationship. It is related to a special tale which dedicates, “relationships in the most beautiful way”. The film is written by the National Award-winning screenwriter Himanshu Sharma. He has been a long time collaborator with Aanand Rai. This is second collaboration of Akshay with Aanand Rai after Atrangi Re that also stars Dhanush and Sara Ali Khan in the lead role.
Bhumi Pednekar was also seen in her latest movie, Dolly Kitty Aur Who Chamakte Sitare and Durgamati. The film is a remake of the South Indian movie Bhaagmathe starring Anushka Shetty.
