Bhumi Pednekar And Akshay Kumar Will Be Reuniting In Aanand L Rai’s ‘Raksha Bandhan’

Bhumi Pednekar and Akshay Kumar who were in seen in Toilet: Ek Prem Katha, will star in director Aanand L Rai’s next, ‘Raksha Bandhan’. It would be the third movie of their collaboration as Akshay Kumar worked as the co-producer for the movie Durgamati starring Bhumi Pednekar in the lead role.

Akshay Kumar recently took to his social media featuring actress Bhumi Pednekar, director Aanand L Rai and captioned it, “When you are happy, it shows. And indeed we are… To have @bhumipednekar onboard #RakshaBandhan.”

Bhumi also posted the picture and expressed her excited, “A very special film & a very special reunion. Am supremely excited to be collaborating again with two of my favourite creative powerhouses & humans. Am full of gratitude to be a part of this special, heart-touching story #RakshaBandhan.”

Last year, Akshay Kumar had announced the film along with the poster. He wrote, “A story that touches your heart so deeply & so instantly, it’s the quickest I’ve signed a film in my career. Dedicating this film,#RakshaBandhan to my sister, Alka & to the most special bond in the world…that of a brother and sister. Thank you @aanandlrai, this one is very special.”

Raksha Bandhan fastens the brother and sister relationship. It is related to a special tale which dedicates, “relationships in the most beautiful way”. The film is written by the National Award-winning screenwriter Himanshu Sharma. He has been a long time collaborator with Aanand Rai. This is second collaboration of Akshay with Aanand Rai after Atrangi Re that also stars Dhanush and Sara Ali Khan in the lead role.

Bhumi Pednekar was also seen in her latest movie, Dolly Kitty Aur Who Chamakte Sitare and Durgamati. The film is a remake of the South Indian movie Bhaagmathe starring Anushka Shetty.
