Bheem in BR Chopra’s Mahabharat, Praveen Kumar Sobti, has died at 74

Praveen Kumar Sobti, an Indian actor best remembered for his portrayal of Bheem in BR Chopra’s Mahabharat, has died at the age of 74. According to sources, the major reason for his death has yet to be determined, however, he had spinal issues.

Praveen Kumar was an athlete who competed in the hammer and discus throws before becoming an actor. He competed in two Olympics and won four medals at the Asian Games, two of which were gold. He also won a silver medal at the Commonwealth Games and competed in two Asian Games.

He ultimately transitioned to acting and appeared in over 30 films over his career. Bheem in BR Chopra’s Mahabharat is his most well-known part.

Praveen Kumar later entered politics, running for the Aam Aadmi Party in the 2013 Delhi Legislative elections, but losing. In 2014, he became a member of the Bharatiya Janata Party.
