Bagchi, Jagga’s adoptive father, decided to enroll him in a boarding school and then abruptly vanishes. When Jagga is older, he catches sight of him with the help of Shruti, a reporter. Is it true that Anurag Basu ‘s artistic movie Jagga Jasoos starring Ranbir Kapoor and Katrina Kaif will be turned into a web show? Read below to find out the complete details.

Anurag Basu’s film Jagga Jasoos was such a movie that he directed with that much passion and care, and it remained Anurag’s most artistically satisfying work. Because the audiences found the fantasy universe of this Ranbir Kapoor and Katrina Kaif starrer difficult to comprehend, the film flopped just at box office. However, in a recent conversation, the filmmaker stated that he received offers from an OTT company to turn Jagga Jasoos into a web programme.

Yes! Yes, you read that correctly. According to sources in Mid-Day, Anurag Basu has received bids from digital giants to turn Jagga Jasoos into something like a series, the filmmaker has received such offers over the period of last two years. “I wouldn’t name the platforms, but we had offers of developing it into a series. But if it didn’t work in theatres, how do we know it will work on OTT? Pritam is excited about the idea and wants us to start working on it. However, I am in a strange space [regarding it]. When you do something with so much love and it doesn’t work, you don’t want to try it again. The idea of starting Jagga all over again is enough to give me the chills,” says the filmmaker.

Another roadblock in Anurag’s plan to make Jagga Jasoos into the web series is his lead actor Ranbir Kapoor’s hectic timetable.  “We keep talking about working together again, but that won’t happen anytime soon. Ranbir is extremely busy right now,” he further says.

Following the success of Ludo, Anurag Basu is presently focusing on an unnamed serial project for a big OTT platform. He just won a Best Director award there at Melbourne Indian Film Festival for the movie.
