As per the sources, the captain of the ship Sanjay Leela Bhansali and actress Alia Bhatt is ready to wait for the theatres to open up for his upcoming movie ‘Gangubai Kathiawadi’. Read below to know more.
The situation was tough due to the ongoing disastrous covid-19 pandemic throughout the country. All the public gatherings were closed which includes parks, malls, and theatres as well. Today the cases are fewer when compared to them during the first wave and second wave. The unlock is happening with taking care of all the necessary precautions. But, we still aren’t in the state to open up the Cinema theatres and movie halls because it is still dangerous right now as the virus is mutating into new forms.
Like other filmmakers who are seeing an alternative in the form of OTT platforms and are releasing the movies. Sanjay Leela Bhansali will not take that risk as he will wait till the movie theatres open again, with his upcoming directorial ‘Gangubai Kathiawadi’, SLB has made his intentions clear that it belongs not the small screen but to the big screen.

According to a very close source of the movie, “Sanjay Leela Bhansali is immensely pleased with the end result. He feels ‘Gangubai Kathiawadi’ is his biggest and best film to date in terms of the scale and size of the visuals and emotions. These cannot be relocated to the OTT platform at any cost. Further when being asked what if the pandemic persists? The source replied that “SLB is willing to wait it out, no matter how long it takes.”
Apart from the movie project ‘Gangubai Kathiawadi’, as per reports, Sanjay Leela Bhansali is all set to make a movie starring Sonakshi Sinha. However, recently Deepika Padukone and Kartik Aaryan were spotted having a meeting in the SLB office. Hope something fresh comes out soon. While Alia Bhatt is having upcoming movies such as Brahmastra alongside stars like Legendary actor Amitabh Bachchan and Superstar Ranbir Kapoor, and Rocky aur Rani ki prem kahani along with the superstar Ranveer Singh.
