As the movie theatres don’t seem to open again anytime soon, Akshay Kumar starter ‘Bell Bottom’ may get delayed and postponed again now. Read below to know more.
‘Khiladi Kumar of Bollywood’, Superstar Akshay Kumar’s upcoming release ‘Bell Bottom which is directed by Ranjit Tiwari will now face further delay in its inordinately release date. As we all know that Akshay Kumar announced the release date of his upcoming movie as on 27th July, 2021. Back then the release dates were announced as movie theatres were expected to open soon at that time.
But since the widespread of second wave of covid-19 throughout the country after witnessing the first wave, people weren’t that much concern and laws weren’t strict, due to which the second wave made the citizens suffer and people lost their loved once in huge numbers because of carelessness and irresponsible behaviour presented by the citizens. Despite of all the necessary precautions being taken the second wave of the Covid pandemic still on and the third wave looming large over the country, it seems unlikely that movie theatres would open anytime soon not in this month or in the next month i.e., August.
A source close to the project informs that,“The postponement (of Bell Bottom) seemed inevitable. There is no possibility of movie theatres re-opening in July and August. The producers have two options. They can wait indefinitely or opt for an exclusive OTT release.” The source further added that the producers are now “seriously considering” the OTT option and making it release digitally.
Talking about the movie, Bell Bottom is a spy thriller set in the 80s and is based on the plane hijacks that took India by storm back then. Apart from Akshay Kumar, Bell Bottom also stars Lara Dutta, Vaani Kapoor and Huma Qureshi in the lead. Where the Khiladi Kumar plays a RAW agent, Lara Dutta essays the role of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi who was in power at that time. Vaani Kapoor plays Akshay’s wife in the movie.
When we tried to reach out to Nikhil Advani, he neither agreed nor denied to the question raised on the release date of the movie.
