Akshay Kumar’s mother Aruna Bhatia passed away yesterday (September 8). The actor took to social media to share the news of his personal setback. While most of his industry friends and colleagues offered their condolences to the family on social media on Wednesday, many queued up at his home on Thursday.
Akshay’s longtime friend and actor Ajay Devgn made a quick entry and exit after meeting him and his family. Also, Saif Ali Khan, Kareena Kapoor, Sidharth Malhotra, Kiara Advani, Bobby Deol, Sanjay Dutt, Arjun Kapoor, Huma Qureshi among several others were also clicked at the Bell Bottom actor’s home.
Earlier today, on the occasion of his birthday, Khiladi Kumar shared an adorable picture with his late mother, where she can be seen planting a kiss on his cheek. Captioning the picture, he wrote, “Would have never liked it this way but am sure mom is singing Happy Birthday to me from right up there! Thanks to each one of you for your condolences and wishes alike. Life goes on.”
Akshay’s mother Aruna Bhatia was unwell and had been hospitalized in the ICU of Mumbai’s Hiranandani hospital. Akshay, who was filming for his upcoming film in London, jetted back to Mumbai to be with his ailing mother. Akki had taken to his social media to thank everybody for their prayers. He posted, “Touched beyond words at your concern for my mom’s health. This is a very tough time for me and my family. Every single prayer of yours would greatly help.”
However, the actor’s mother died on September 8. Akshay took to the micro-blogging site and shared the news with his fans and followers. “She was my core. And today I feel an unbearable pain at the very core of my existence. My maa Smt Aruna Bhatia peacefully left this world today morning and got reunited with my dad in the other world. I respect your prayers as I and my family go through this period. Om Shanti,” he wrote.
The last rites were held yesterday and were attended by celebrities, including Riteish Deshmukh and Rohit Shetty.
