Taraji P Henson is indeed an actress from the United States. She began acting at Howard University as well as started her career in Hollywood as a guest star on such a number of television series before starring in Baby Boy (2001). She earned an NAACP Image Award for her role as Detective Jocelyn Carter within the CBS show Person of Interest. She appeared inside the ensemble movies Think Like a Man and Think Like a Man 2 in 2014. She made history as the very first African-American woman to win a Critics’ Choice Television Award for Best Actress in a Drama Series for her role as Cookie Lyon inside the Fox drama series Empire. Henson had her singing debut inside the movie Hustle & Flow when she sang “It’s Hard Out Here for a Pimp,” a song by Three 6 Mafia. The song was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Original Song, making Three 6 Mafia the first African-American hip hop group to win in that category. On March 5, 2006, Henson and the band played the song live there at the Academy Awards. On the 2006 charity album Unexpected Dreams – Songs From the Stars, she performed “In My Daughter’s Eyes.”
