Shia LaBeouf is indeed an actor, performance artist, as well as filmmaker from the United States. He was nominated for a Young Artist Award in 2001 and won a Daytime Emmy Award in 2003 for his portrayal as Louis Stevens in the Disney Channel sitcom Even Stevens. In The Christmas Path, he made his cinematic debut (1998). He made his directorial debut well with the short movie Let’s Love Hate in 2004 and then directed Maniac (2011), which starred American rappers, Cage and Kid Cudi.
In 2007, Shia LaBeouf featured in the box office hits Disturbia and Surf’s Up. In the same year, he was cast as Sam Witwicky, the series’ primary protagonist, in Michael Bay’s science fiction picture Transformers. Transformers was a box office hit, and it was one of the year’s highest-grossing pictures. Later, in Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, LaBeouf reprised his role (2009).
In Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, he played Henry “Mutt Williams” Jones III.
Holes (2003), Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps (2010), Lawless (2012), The Company You Keep, Nymphomaniac (2013), Fury (2014), American Honey (2016), Borg versus McEnroe (2017), Honey Boy, The Peanut Butter Falcon (2019), and Pieces of a Woman are among his other cinematic credits.
Since 2014, LaBeouf has collaborated alongside LaBeouf, Rönkkö & Turner on a number of public performance art pieces.
In an article for Judea Pearl’s book, I Am Jewish, LaBeouf declared that he had a “personal relationship with God that happens to function inside the limits of Judaism.” He has identified as Jewish, although in 2007 he stated that religion “never made sense” to him. In an interview with Interview magazine in October 2014, he stated that he would have become “a Christian guy.”
