Ravi Shankar Raju Bhupatiraju (born 26 January 1968), best known by his stage name Ravi Teja, is a Telugu actor. Teja, who is most recognized for his performances in action comedy movies, has acted in over 70 movies and it is one of Telugu cinema’s highest-paid performers. In 1999 and 2002, he received the Nandi Special Jury Award for his performances in the movies Nee Kosam (1999) and Khadgam (2002), and then in 2008, he received the Nandi Award for Best Actor for Neninthe. He is most recognised for his work with director Puri Jagannadh, which resulted in important career triumphs.
He made his Telugu cinema debut with Karthavyam (1990), subsequently went on to play supporting parts in films like Allari Priyudu (1993), Ninne Pelladata (1996), and Sindhooram (1997). Teja has indeed worked as an assistant director on a number of projects.
Teja debuted as just a lead actor in Nee Kosam in 1999, and has since appeared in movies including such Itlu Sravani Subramanyam (2001), Avunu Valliddaru Ista Paddaru! (2002), Idiot (2002), Khadgam (2002), Amma Nanna O Tamila Ammayi (2003), Venky (2004), Naa Autograph (2004), Bhadra (2005), and Vikramarkudu (2006) Dubai Seenu (2007), Krishna (2007), Neninthe (2007), Kick (2009), Shambo Shiva Shambo (2010), Don Seenu (2010), Mirapakay (2011), Balupu (2013), Power (2014), Bengal Tiger (2015), Raja the Great (2017), and Krack (2017) are some of the films that have been released (2021).
With just an annual income of Rs 15.5 crore, he was ranked 50th on Forbes India’s top 100 Celebrities list in 2012. He was ranked 68th in 2013 having earnings of Rs 13 crore. He was ranked 74th in 2015, with earnings of 12.5 crores.
Ravi Teja was born in Jaggampeta, Andhra Pradesh, India, to Raj Gopal Raju and Rajya Lakshmi Bhupatiraju. His father worked as a pharmacist, while his mother was a stay-at-home mom. He is indeed the eldest of three sons, some other two of them are also actors, Bharath and Raghu. Because of his father’s employment, Teja spent the majority of his youth in Northern India. He went to school in Jaipur, Delhi, Mumbai, and Bhopal. He speaks Hindi as well as Telugu fluently. Teja finished his education at Vijayawada’s N.S.M. Public School. He went on to Siddhartha Degree College in Vijayawada to finish his bachelor’s degree in arts. He moved to Chennai in 1988 to begin his movie career.
