Rachel McAdams is indeed a Canadian film and television actress. She worked in Canadian television and film productions after graduating from such a theatre degree programme at York University in 2001, including the drama film Perfect Pie, about which she received a Genie Award nomination, the comedy film My Name Is Tanino (2002), as well as the comedy series Slings as well as Arrows (2003–2005), about which she won a Gemini Award.

She made her Hollywood debut with the comedy The Hot Chick in 2002. McAdams rose to prominence in 2004 well with comedies Mean Girls and The Notebook. She appeared in many films in 2005, including the romantic comedy Wedding Crashers, the psychological thriller Red Eye, as well as the comedy-drama The Family Stone. She took part in the Occupy Toronto protest in 2011. McAdams participated in Habitat for Humanity in her hometown of St. Thomas in 2013. She too has volunteered for organisations such as the Sunshine Foundation of Canada, the Alzheimer’s Association, the READ Campaign, as well as United Way of Canada. She is indeed a member of the creative council of Represent.Us, an anti-corruption activist organisation.
