Michael John Douglas, better known by his stage name Michael Keaton, is indeed an actor from the United States. He is well known for playing Batman in the DC Comics films Batman (1989), Batman Returns (1992), and The Flash (2022), as well as Jack Butler in Mr Mom (1983), Betelgeuse in Beetlejuice (1988), and Adrian Toomes / Vulture in Spider-Man: Homecoming (2017) and the forthcoming Morbius.

In the 1982 picture Night Shift (also Ron Howard’s second film as a director), Michael Keaton played fast-talking schemer Bill “Blaze” Blazejowski. Later films include Clean and Sober (1989), Much Ado About Nothing (1993), The Paper (1994), Multiplicity (1996), Jackie Brown (1997), Herbie: Fully Loaded (2005), The Other Guys (2010), Spotlight (2015), The Founder (2016), and Dumbo (2019).

In animated movies including Porco Rosso (1992), Cars (2006), Toy Story 3 (2010), as well as Minions, he has performed voices for characters (2015). He appeared inside the Hulu limited series Dopesick in 2021.

Keaton won a Golden Globe Award for Best Actor – Motion Picture Musical or Comedy and was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Actor for his role in Alejandro González Iárritu’s dark comedy picture Birdman in 2014, gaining critical praise. He earlier garnered a Golden Globe nomination for his role in Live from Baghdad (2002), as well as five Screen Actors Guild Award nominations, winning three awards for his roles in Birdman (2014), Spotlight (2015), and The Trial of the Chicago 7. (2020).

The Hollywood Film Festival presented Keaton with a Career Achievement Award. He was awarded Officer of the Order of Arts and Letters of France on January 18, 2016. He is indeed a Carnegie Mellon University visiting scholar.

Where the Heart Is and Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood was Keaton’s first television appearances, both on Pittsburgh public television (1975). He worked as a full-time production assistant for Mister Rogers as well as portrayed one of several “Flying Zookeeni Brothers.” (After Fred Rogers’ death in 2004, Keaton presented Fred Rogers: America’s Favorite Neighbor, a PBS memorial tribute.) Keaton also worked in Pittsburgh theatre as Rick inside the Pittsburgh premiere of David Rabe’s Sticks and Bones, which he performed with the Pittsburgh Poor Players. He supplemented his income by doing stand-up comedy in his early years.
