Michael Jai White is indeed an actor, director, as well as martial artist from the United States. Inside the 1997 movie Spawn, he played Al Simmons, the protagonist, and was the first African American to play a prominent comic book superhero inside a major motion picture. White played Marcus Williams in Tyler Perry’s movies Why Did I Get Married? and Why Did I Get Married Too?, as well as the role on TBS/comedy-drama OWN’s Tyler Perry’s For Better or Worse.

He was in Full Contact with Jerry Trimble a few years before. In 2001, he co-starred in Exit Wounds with fellow martial artist Steven Seagal. He appeared in the music video “I Know What You Want” by Busta Rhymes and Mariah Carey in 2003.

White has been performing voice work since 2003, in addition to his on-screen performances, notably Static Shock as well as Justice League. Inside the direct-to-DVD film Undisputed II: Last Man Standing, White shows off his martial arts talents. In 2004, he also appeared in Michelle Yeoh’s Silver Hawk. He made an appearance in Kill Bill: Volume 2, however his role was deleted as from the theatrical version. On October 12, 2007, his movie Why Did I Get Married? debuted at number one at the box office.
