Emma Watson

Emma Watson is indeed an actress and campaigner from England. She is known for her appearances in both blockbusters and indie movies, as well as her involvement in the field of women’s rights. Forbes and Vanity Fair have called Watson including some of the highest-paid actresses in the world, while Time magazine named her one of several 100 most important persons in the world in 2015.

Emma Watson went to the Dragon School and Stagecoach Theatre Arts in Oxford for acting training. She rocketed to fame as a kid after getting her first professional acting role as Hermione Granger inside the Harry Potter film series, having previously only appeared in school plays. Watson also contributed her voice to The Tale of Despereaux and acted within the 2007 television version of the novel Ballet Shoes.

Emma Watson had a supporting part in My Week with Marilyn (2011) just after the final Harry Potter film, before actually featuring Sam, a flirty, free-spirited student in The Perks of Becoming a Wallflower to great acclaim. In Sofia Coppola’s The Bling Ring, she played Alexis Neiers, and that in the biblical epic Noah, she played the main character’s adopted daughter. Watson was named British Artist of the Year by the British Academy of Film and Television Arts the same year. She notably played Belle inside the musical love fantasy Beauty as well as the Beast (2017), which is one of the most successful movies of all time, as well as Meg March inside the coming-of-age drama Little Women.

Emma Watson worked on movies and continued her study from 2011 to 2014, finishing Brown University with a bachelor’s degree in English literature in May 2014.

She was named a UN Women Goodwill Ambassador that year and assisted in the establishment of the UN Women initiative HeForShe, which promotes gender equality. As a founder member of Time’s Up UK in 2018, she assisted in its formation. In 2019, Watson was named to a G7 advisory committee on women’s rights, where she advises leaders on foreign affairs. Her modelling credits include Burberry and Lancôme advertisements. She also has a clothing line with the sustainable business People Tree that bears her name. Like that of an advocate for sustainable fashion, she served on the board of directors of Kering, a premium brand company, in 2020.
