Who is Amber Heard?

Amber Heard is indeed an actress who has appeared in films and on television in the United States. Heard earned her first big part within horror-thriller All the Boys Love Mandy Lane after such a string of modest appearances in cinema and television (2006). She rose to prominence after appearing in the action picture Never Back Down (2008) as well as the comedy Pineapple Express as a supporting actress (2008). She went on to star in movies including The Joneses (2009), The Ward (2010), The Rum Diary (2011), Drive Angry (2011), Machete Kills (2013), and Magic Mike XXL in the following years.

Heard joins the DC Extended Universe in 2017 to portray Mera, the Atlantean queen, in the films Justice League (2017), Aquaman (2018), and Zack Snyder’s Justice League (2021). Heard has become a worldwide spokeswoman for cosmetics company L’Oréal Paris since 2018, in addition to performing. She is also an activist for human rights.        

From 2015 until 2017, Heard was married to actor Johnny Depp. Their divorce garnered a lot of media attention since she claimed he was abusive for the whole of their relationship. After Heard published an op-ed about becoming a public victim of domestic abuse, he sued her for defamation in 2019. Inside a separate libel claim in England, he sued The Sun’s publishers. The High Court of Justice of England and Wales found in 2020 found Depp had lost his libel lawsuit, with the bulk of Heard’s charges being proven to such a civil standard.

Heard’s early acting credits include modest supporting roles inside the television programmes Jack & Bobby (2004), The Mountain (2004), and The O.C., as well as cameos in two music videos, Kenny Chesney’s “There Goes My Life” and Eisley’s “I Wasn’t Prepared” (2005).

Heard is indeed an ambassador for the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU), to which she donated half of her divorce settlement, as well as a Human Rights Champion for the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights’ Stand Up for Human Rights campaign.

During the 2014 iCloud celebrity picture leaks, she gave a statement on Capitol Hill in support of the SHIELD Act, explaining her experience of having her private nude images hacked and released online without her knowledge.

Within the December 2016 edition of Porter magazine, Heard wrote about her experiences with domestic violence, as well as in an op-ed for The Washington Post in December 2018.
