Jules Roth (1900–1998) was a wealthy and just a convicted felon. In 1939, he purchased a 51 per cent share inside the cemetery where his parents were laid to rest. He spent the proceeds from the cemetery’s operations on his own indulgences. Hollywood Memorial Park was indeed the name of the cemetery at the time. The cemetery began to exhibit indications of neglect and decay in the 1990s.
