Russell Crowe does have a net worth of $100 million USD as just an actor, movie producer, and musician. Crowe soared to worldwide popularity for his Academy Award-winning portrayal as Maximus Decimus Meridius in 2000’s “Gladiator,” despite having started his career on television. His films “The Insider,” “A Beautiful Mind,” and “Cinderella Man” all gained critical praise. Russell Crowe was born Russell Ira Crowe in Wellington, New Zealand, on April 7, 1964. Jocelyn and John, his parents, worked as film set caterers, and John also worked as a hotel manager. Crowe’s first professional theatrical role was as Eddie and Dr. Scott in such a New Zealand version of “The Rocky Horror Picture Show” in 1986. He starred in this show for two years before reprising his parts on an Australian tour. Russell portrayed Mickey inside an Australian version of “Blood Brothers” in 1988, and Johnny the following year in “Bad Boy Johnny and the Prophets of Doom.”

Russell made his debut movie, The Crossing, in 1990, after appearing in four episodes of both the popular Australian soap opera “Neighbours.” He was cast in “Blood Oath” (known in certain countries as “Prisoners of the Sun”), “Proof,” “Spotswood,” and “Romper Stomper,” earning Australian Film Institute prizes for both “Proof” and “Romper Stomper.” Crowe made his cinematic debut in 1995, co-starring in “Virtuosity” with Denzel Washington and “The Quick and the Dead” alongside Sharon Stone, Gene Hackman, and Leonardo DiCaprio. Russell was nominated for an Academy Award for “The Insider” in 1999, “Gladiator” in 2000, and “A Beautiful Mind” in 2001.

He has acted in over 40 films, including “Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World” (2003), “American Gangster” (2007), “Robin Hood” (2010), “Les Misérables” (2012), and “The Mummy” (2013). (2017). In 2019, he reprised his role as disgraced Fox News chairman Roger Ailes in the Showtime drama “The Loudest Voice.”
