There may be a legal distinction between “road rage” and “aggressive driving” in some jurisdictions. Only a few states in the United States have passed unique aggressive driving legislation, and most occurrences of road rage are punished as assault and battery or vehicular murder.

According to a study, 6.8% of road rage events result in death.
