Suzanna Son and Lily-Rose Depp to star in The Weeknd’s music series

The music business drama, co-created by Sam Levinson, Abel “The Weeknd” Tesfaye, and Reza Fahim, has indeed been given an HBO series order as well as its cast has indeed been finalised. Suzanna Son, a rising talent from the Red Rockets, has joined Lily-Rose Depp’s team.

The six-episode series will indeed be shot mostly around Los Angeles, according to Deadline. Tesfaye, who is well recognized for her single Blinding Lights, will feature opposite Lily-Rose Depp in the film. Tesfaye will then be executive producing and co-writing the series.

The series follows a self-help guru as well as a modern-day religious zealot that establishes a tangled connection with such an up-and-coming pop sensation place against the backdrop of such music business.

Amy Seimetz, who directed Atlanta as Well as the Girlfriend Experience, would direct The Idol. Suzanna Son, which made her acting debut opposite Simon Rex in Sean Baker’s film Red Rocket, is now a recurring character opposite Steve Zissis and Troye Sivan. Anne Heche, Melanie Liburd, Tunde Adebimpe, Elizabeth Berkley Lauren, as well as Nico Hiraga have all appeared in previous episodes.

The project’s showrunner, as well as writer, would be Joseph Epstein. A24 will exec produce Levinson, Tesfaye, Fahim, Epstein, Seimetz, Ashley Levinson, Kevin Turen, Nick Hall, Sara E. White, and Aaron Gilbert of Bron Studios.
