Khei Horikoshi’s My Hero Academia is indeed a Japanese superhero manga series that he wrote and drew. The storey follows Izuku Midoriya, a child born without abilities in such a world in which they are growing more popular, but who nonetheless wishes to become a superhero. All Might, Japan’s greatest hero, recognises Midoriya’s potential and picks him as his successor, sharing his Quirk with him and subsequently assisting him in enrolling him at a prominent high school for superheroes in training.

From July 2014, the series has indeed been serialised in Weekly Shnen Jump, and its chapters have been compiled into 32 tankbon volumes as of October 2021. Numerous spin-off publications, including My Hero Academia: Smash!!, My Hero Academia: Vigilantes, and an anime tv show by Bones, have been inspired by the series.

The first season aired in Japan from April to June 2016, followed by the second season from April to September 2017, a third season from April to September 2018, a fourth season from October 2019 to April 2020, a fifth season from March to September 2021, as well as a sixth season that will air in the near future. My Hero Academia: Two Heroes, My Hero Academia: Heroes Rising, and My Hero Academia: World Heroes’ Mission are the three animated movies that have been released thus far. Legendary Entertainment is developing a live-action feature.

Both the manga and anime adaptations have garnered overwhelmingly great reviews from reviewers and audiences, and thus are widely regarded as among the finest of the decade, having won several accolades, such as the 2019 Harvey Award for Best Manga. The manga has sold over 50 million copies globally as of April 2021.
