We may take solace in the fact that his work as just a filmmaker Ivan Reitman provided joy and amusement to many others all across the world. While we grieve individually, we hope that all those who knew him via his movies will never forget him.”
Reitman, who was born in Czechoslovakia and reared in Canada, left his debut as the producer of National Lampoon’s Animal House (1978). With all the movie hit Meatballs (1979), starring Bill Murray as an anarchic camp counsellor, as well as the service comedy Stripes (1980), he easily transitioned into feature filmmaking (1981).
