Anand Ahuja, Sonam Kapoor’s millionaire husband, tweeted in January 2022 about an international shipping company’s terrible customer service. Now, word on the street is that Anand has been fired by the shipping firm for allegedly submitting a doctored invoice to evade reimbursing taxes and customs duties.
The firm stated in response to Anand’s tweet that the issue was not with their services, but with the documentation, Anand had submitted. Sonam, on the other hand, had previously backed Anand in his tweet against the e-commerce site.
The business now claims that the statements supplied by Anand Ahuja were worth up to 90% less than what he paid for the items. “The doctored invoices list prices that were up to 90% less than what he paid for the goods. While our policy is to do our best to rectify any customer issues, we have a duty to uphold regulatory compliance,” the tweet read.
The tweet also mentioned, “This is not a matter of customer service quality, new policies, or holding items improperly as was tweeted. Mr Ahuja misrepresented the price he paid for sneakers purchased on eBay which would result in him paying fewer duties and taxes”.
“Put very simply, we have a legal obligation to provide accurate information when sending international shipments. Both MyUS and Mr Ahuja are subject to international export rules, and we intend to follow them.”
Anand Ahuja then replied to the tweet, claiming that the company refused to substantiate the PDF receipts and bank statements and that he had impeached them for attempting to overcharge him and keep his goods for an extended period of time, adding that he had moved all of his belongings and closed his account.
“You should watch your baseless slandering- you were the ones that refused to validate PDF receipts & bank statements just so you could overcharge me and hold my goods longer to earn late fees,” his tweet read.
In India, Anand Ahuja is a well-known fashion entrepreneur. After dating Sonam Kapoor for several years, he married her in 2018.
