Is BTS going to do a collab with Blackpink 2022?

Blackpink

As we all know that 2021 was one of the most successful year for Blackpink, as they released more songs than normal, collaborated with some of the world’s most well-known musicians, as well as charted in ways that no other South Korean girl group had ever done before. Already among the most popular all-female bands in the world, Blackpink made a name for themselves last year as one of the hottest non-solo acts and maybe the most popular girl group on the planet.

While Blackpink had a fantastic year in 2020, 2021 has become almost deafeningly quiet. The band is still riding high on the popularity of their debut full-length The Album and the several songs that sprang from the title, and two of the members have gone solo. Now that one artist has leaked information about their next release, fans of Blackpink may not have to wait long for new music from the popular K-pop group.

While on the red carpet at the MTV Video Music Awards, Ozuna said in an interview that despite the fact that he recently released a new song, he already has his next single planned, and it would be a collaborative effort with musicians from many genres and corners of the world.

During the ceremony, the Latin superstar, who performed his current single “La Funka,” disclosed that his next album will allegedly feature Megan Thee Stallion and Blackpink. He didn’t say when it’ll be released, what it’ll be named, or even what it’ll sound like (which is impossible to fathom given those three names), but just mentioning the South Korean foursome is enough to have fans eager for what’s to come.

If Ozuna’s claim proves to be accurate, it will be the second time Stallion has collaborated with a significant figure in South Korean music.

Just a few weeks ago, the rapper collaborated with BTS to remake their global blockbuster “Butter,” reinvigorating the track and rekindling interest in it. The track stormed back to No. 1 upon that Hot 100, giving her a ninth stay in the penthouse in the process.

“Lovesick Girls,” the third official promotional cut from The Album, was Blackpink’s most recent single to also be released. On the day the full-length was released, the music was promoted as a single, and that became a minor hit in a few places.
