During the lockdown last year, Sanjay Dutt was diagnosed with cancer. In October of last year, the actor opted to undergo chemotherapy and was declared cancer-free. He took a short break from work before returning to his scheduled projects, including Bhuj, Shamshera, and KGF 2.
Sanjay Dutt’s doctor, Dr. Jalil Parker, spoke to the Times of India on World Cancer Day about the moment he learned of his illness and his immediate reaction. “It came as a nasty shock to him at first,” he added. He stated that he has experienced a lot of upheaval in his life. ‘Why has God selected me for this?’ he wondered.
“Based on our histology results as well as a second opinion from experts overseas, Dutt together his family elected to pursue chemotherapy treatment there at Kokilaben Ambani Hospital,” he said, “Dutt and his family chose to take chemotherapy treatment at the Kokilaben Ambani Hospital.” It was alright with us that he knew Mr. Anil Ambani and his wife Tina. It is a patient’s choice where he wants to be treated and admitted to the hospital. He began following the treatment regimen that we had advised and kept us informed; he soon informed us that he was feeling better.”
Dr. Parkar complimented Dutt for maintaining his composure and strength in the face of adversity while receiving treatment.
Sanjay Dutt had an atmosphere of tranquilly and calm when he arrived with his family, according to Dr Sewanti. When she inquired about what was going through Sanjay’s head as he discussed the therapy, Dutt replied, “It made me feel better. There was a point when they told me there was a 50-50 probability, and I wanted you to be on the positive side of the border 50% of the time. That phrase had a significant impact on me. It was at that point that I resolved to always look on the bright side, no matter what I had to go through.”
