‘We always wanted Kangana Ranaut to play the role of ‘The Incarnation: Sita’: Manoj Muntashir

Lyricist and screenplay writer Manoj Muntashir recently clarified that Kareena Kapoor Khan and Deepika Padukone were not approached for the upcoming film ‘The Incarnation: Sita.’

Earlier, there were rumors that Bebo demanded twelve crores rupees to play the titular role of Sita. Kareena was even trolled left, right, and center for the same. And now, in the latest interview with a leading daily, Muntashir clarified that they never approached any other actresses for the role of Sita. He further said that Kangana Ranaut was always their first choice for the film.

Manoj Muntashir said, “Rumours were floating around about actresses like Kareena and Deepika being approached for the project, but they were not true. The Sita Devi we have sketched has various shades, and Kangana is the best cast from that point of view.”

“Once you see the film in theatres, you won’t be able to visualize anybody in her place. We never approached other actresses and always wanted Kangana to play the title role. The search for a young actress to play the title role was on, as it is about Sita in her young days. We are not showing the whole Ramayana, but her life as a young girl before she married Ram,” the lyricist added.

Last week, Kangana Ranaut took to Instagram to share the poster of the film and wrote, “Here are the updated poster #theincarnationsita.” The film is helmed by Alaukik Desai and bankrolled by Saloni Sharma.
