Varun and Kriti's Hindi Obsession premieres Oct 30

Varun Dhawan and Kriti Sanon are lending their voices to the Hindi version of Obsession, and the uncut film finally has a streaming date. The reunion with director Amar Kaushik is not a Bhediya sequel, but it puts the trio back together for a very different kind of project.

The scene fans are already talking about

On October 29, a popular moment from Obsession was uploaded to YouTube with a twist: Varun and Kriti stepped into the roles instead of the original cast. In the sequence, Bear gathers the courage to confront Nikki about the lies she has told him. Nikki responds by standing up, screaming and launching into the film’s now-famous “No No No” dialogue.

Amar Kaushik recreated Curry Barker’s scene faithfully. Kriti brings Nikki’s grim intensity, while Varun plays Bear’s stunned, flabbergasted reaction. The video gives Hindi audiences a feel for the film’s tone before its streaming premiere.

What to know before you watch

  • The voices: Varun Dhawan voices Bear (Michael Johnston), and Kriti Sanon voices Nikki (Inde Navarette).
  • The team: Amar Kaushik directs the Hindi recreation, reuniting with Varun and Kriti after Bhediya.
  • The release: The uncut, original version premieres on The Peacock Hub on JioHotstar on October 30, 2026 at 7 pm.
  • The languages: The film will be available in Hindi and English.

The dub strategy behind the reunion

Hindi dubs of international films have become a quiet growth area for Indian platforms. A recognised Bollywood voice can turn a title that might otherwise be overlooked into appointment viewing. By casting Varun and Kriti as Bear and Nikki, the Hindi version gives the film a built-in fanbase, while Amar Kaushik’s involvement signals that the adaptation is being treated seriously.

This also gives the trio a way to collaborate without committing to a full feature sequel. The original theatrical cut left out some of the film’s harsher material; the JioHotstar premiere promises the complete version, which is likely to be the main draw for viewers who want the full psychological impact.

Why this release matters

Obsession had a theatrical release in May, but cinemas held back some of the more explicit and gory moments. Those scenes added an extra layer of impact, and fans who saw the trimmed version now get the full experience on JioHotstar. Star-powered Hindi dubbing is also a growing crossover strategy: familiar voices can make an international title feel more accessible to Indian audiences.

For fans of the Bhediya team, this is not the sequel they may have imagined. But the pairing of Varun, Kriti and Amar Kaushik around a dark, obsessive story is an interesting change of pace, and the dubbed scene suggests the performances translate well.
