India is creating history at Tokyo 2020 Paralympics. Javelin thrower Sumit Antil set a world record by winning another gold medal for the country. August 30 is a historic day for India, as two para-athletes bagged a gold medal on the same day. Avani Lekhara bagged gold in a 10m air rifle standing at the Paralympics and became the first Indian woman to win a gold medal at the Paralympics.
As Sumit Antil won a gold medal, celebrities including Anil Kapoor, Akshay Kumar, Ajay Devgn, Ananya Panday, Vicky Kaushal among others took to their social media accounts and congratulated Sumit for his big win.
Evergreen actor Anil Kapoor wrote, “Another gold for India!! Congratulations #SumitAntil!!! #TokyoParalympics.” Ananya Panday shared a post on her Instagram stories.
Ajay Devgn applauded Sumit who have bagged a medal. The actor wrote, “Congratulations to Sumit Antil for a record-breaking golden throw in #Paralympics. Yet another proud moment for all of us. #SumitAntil #TokyoParalympics #Tokyo2020” On the other hand, Akshay who also keeps acknowledging their win on social media, tweeted, “Yet another #Gold for India! Bell Bottom actor Akshay Kumar also congratulated Sumit Until for his win. He tweeted, “Yet another #Gold for India! Heartiest congratulations #SumitAntil on the record-breaking throw. What a brilliant performance. We are so proud of you. #paralympics #tokyo2020.”
Ananya Panday took to her Instagram stories and shared Sumit Antil’s picture and simply wrote, “Gold.”

Meanwhile, after the win, President Of India, Ram Nath Kovind tweeted, “Sumit Antil’s historic performance in the javelin throw at the #Paralympics is a moment of great pride for the country. Congratulations on winning the gold and setting a new world record. Every Indian is elated to hear the national anthem at the podium. You’re a true champion!”
Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi also took to Twitter and wrote, “Our athletes continue to shine at the #Paralympics!
