How many of you fantasised about having your own Bollywood-style love storey? You’re not alone, since Radhika Madan as well as I were all in the same boat with you. Radhika Madan recently confessed that Bollywood films and happenings influenced her as she grew up, as well as that she still holds them dear. In fact, the starlet revealed that she wanted to date her closest friend after seeing ‘Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Naa.’ Her friend, on the other hand, responded in an archetypal filmy manner.
Inside an interview with Filmfare, the actress revealed that Bollywood films had a big effect on her. “Bollywood films had a big effect on me.” When I first saw Jaane Tu…Ya Jaane Na with my closest buddy, I mistook myself for Aditi and he for Jay. “I was like, ‘We should date,’ right after that,” she added. She then went on to say how she recommended they date to her best friend, to which his buddy was startled and even echoed SRK’s iconic Pyaar Dosti Hai speech from Kuch Kuch Hota Hai.
Radhika went on to say that remembering the incident now makes her feel humiliated. “I wish someone had told me, ‘No, Radhika, no!’ at that time,” she continued. The actress also discussed how Bollywood has inspired and modified her notion of love over the years. She added that when she was little, Bollywood had a big influence on how she thought about love. She said, “your mind is impressionable at that age. For me, right now, pyaar dosti nahi hai (love is not friendship) but you know, you need to accept the person wholly.” She emphasised that the definition of love has changed a lot for her. “Earlier, it was a checklist of how they looked, what flowers they sent. When you learn from life, your definition changes,” she concluded.
