The movie “Shabaash Mithu” is being produced by Viacom Studios. In the lead role is actress Taapsee Pannu as Indian women’s cricket team captain Mithali Raj.
The screenplay of Shaabash Mithu is by Priya Aven and is directed by Rahul Dholakia of “Raees, Lamha & Kehta hai Dil Baar Baar” fame. The film is being produced by Ajit Andhare, the case includes Asad Ali Palijo in addition to Taapsee Pannu. The movie has apparently essayed the struggles of Mithali when she ventured into male-dominated sports in the 90s. Mithali is looking forward to this biopic of hers as she believes that it will motivate upcoming women cricket players. Mithali is confident that Taapsee will do justice to her role.
Taapsee Pannu has been regularly posting updates on her forthcoming film “Shabash Mithu”. The noteworthy post was the one having Tapsee’s the picture from the introductory term of the film with the caption. “Training for the cover …literally working Actor Shahid Kapoor posted his comment to her picture, calling the posture really “Sharp”.
In yet another social media post, the actress flashed a picture of herself, holding a bat in her hand and with an intense look on her face. Taapsee wrote: “And romance with the bat and the ball has begun.” She elaborated the post with the hashtags and intensified the statement, “Long way to go but a good start is half job done. This is going to be another milestone of sorts… For our captain cool Mithali Raj biopic and all her women in blue.”
Taapsee Pannu announced the film on Mithali’s birthday in 2019 and claimed that the biopic is a birthday gift to the woman cricketer. The actress also went ahead and promised that her portrayal of the character would be noteworthy. The poster of the film has been recently released. It was not easy to recognize Taapsee in the poster. Let’s hope that Taapsee lives up to her assurance to Mithali Raj.
